Ladybug Birthday Party

It's hard to believe the little girl we brought home from Guatemala at 4 months old is already 5 years old. This year I wanted to do things a little different with her birthday party. I have been creating invitations for Little Ladybug Designs since 2007 and I have been wanting to add party decor to the list of products that I offer my customers. What better way to show off the products than by having a real party with the party decor that I designed. I asked our daughter what type of party she wanted and she instantly said she wanted a ladybug party. I think she has an idea that her mommy loves ladybugs! I have to admit that while I am very comfortable designing invitations I am not a party planner or very crafty when it comes to making things by hand. . I wanted to challenge myself with this party. I started researching the internet and getting inspirations from other fabulous party planners and hand-crafters. The first thing on the agenda was to design the invitation.

I wanted the invitation to have an earthy feel and show ladybugs flying. I also thought it would be cute to have a look alike character so I put a sweet little graphic of a little girl. I changed the hair and skin color to resemble my daughter's beautiful features.

Next on the agenda was designing the rest of the party decor which included a banner, cupcake toppers, water bottle labels, napkin wrappers, stickers, favor tags, and food label tags.

I am so thankful that I have such a supportive husband. He helped me prepare for this party by helping me shop for the items, assemble the party decor and he even baked the cupcakes!

The party was at my in laws house which is over 3 hours from where we live so we spent the night closer to their house so we could set up the party in time. I am thankful to his family & friends who helped set up the table and take photographs.

A birthday girl wouldn't be complete without a cute outfit to match her party. Anne from Gum Drops Hair Candy made a custom ladybug bow for our daughter. It was adorable!

Brittany from PolkaDot BabyBowtique created our daughter's ladybug t-shirt. It was so cute! I found a ladybug tulle skirt from a seller online. It was made by Gymboree with tags. She had sparkly red shoes to make her feel like a princess.

I was so pleased with how everything turned out, but the most important thing was that the birthday girl loved it and had such a great time.

Stay tuned because I will be adding party printables to the website very soon so you can create your own party ensembles! For party decor made to match any of the themes on the Little Ladybug Designs website or custom party decor please email (info [at] littleladybugdesigns [dot] com)
