How-to do a Jungle Themed Party

by Marla Ellis

You can use the Jungle theme for a baby shower, or a neural birthday party. With a little bit of citrus yellow's, green's and some tropical blues, purple, and a little pink, you can have a wild of a party.

Check out these Jungle Birthday Invitations

Your Wild Jungle Decorations:
You can purchase a green plastic tablecloth, a black permanent marker, and using the table top as your guide, draw the shape of some tall grass. To do this go from the the bottom of the tablecloth to the top, and draw a few grass stems the go over the top. These are suppose to look free formed so don't worry on if you can't draw it will be just fine, the more wiggly your grass shapes are the better they will look.
While shopping for your tablecloth, look for items that have wild animals on them, like paper plates, cups, and silverware. The ones the look like the animals with the little ears will work just fine for this party.

For your Jungle Party Centerpiece you will need:

Craft Sand (green and neutral colors)
Plastic Tray
An Assortment of plastic Jungle animals, and trees.
Blue Card Stock

Place your plastic tray in the center of the party table, pour the neutral sand around the inside of the tray leaving the center of the tray empty, then pour the green sand in the middle over lapping the neutral sand in a few places. Cut out a small pond shaped circle out of the blue card stock and place this off to one side of your tray, over lapping both of the neutral and green sands, this is your watering hole. Next arrange the jungle animals and trees in a fun manner.

Your Jungle Menu:

To create a Zebra Cake you will need:

White and Chocolate cake mixes
White and Chocolate Icing
9x13 inch cake pan
Knife or Toothpicks

You can serve a Zebra cake, all you need to do is, get a white and chocolate cake mixes. Mix each up according to the directions, poor the white cake mix in a 9x13 inch cake pan, then with a spoon taking the chocolate cake mix, make even lines on top of the white. Take a tooth pick or butter knife, run it through the chocolate and the white marbling the mixtures. Do not over=2 0mix or you will lose the effect. Bake the cake according to the directions, and let cool. If you have any of the chocolate cake mix left over make small cupcakes. Once the cake has cooled using white icing frost the cake, then taking the chocolate icing and drizzle on the top, to make the zebra strips. Do the opposite to the chocolate cupcakes, to make a backward zebra.

You can also serve with your zebra cake some animal crackers, peanuts, banana's, mango's, pineapple slices, just think of what the animals would eat in the wild jungle. For the drinks you can serve strawberry and banana milk shakes or smoothies, tropical punch, or a fruit sorbet punch.

Your Jungle Activity:

You can play pin the nose on the elephant, and here is how to make your your elephant head and nose.

Materials you will need:

Poster Board
Crayon in Gray and Black (make sure the Grey is a big crayon)
Large Cork Board
Thumb Tacks
Tape or Velcro
Dinner Plate
Scissors
Laminate (Optional)

First taking the poster board, using the dinner plate as your template, to draw a large circle tracing around the plate, this will be your elephants head. Now draw two large elephant style ears on each side of the head. Draw two large eyes about center of the head with the black crayon, coloring them both in. With the large gray crayon color in the head and ears. Next cut the head and ears out of the poster board. Now using the remainder of the poster board, draw an elephants trunk shape, color this with the large gray crayon, and cut out. If you could laminate these pieces to make them stronger so you can use tape as instead of a thumb tack. Now using some small thumb tacks place your elephant head on the large cork board. Then find the prefect place in your party room to hang your pin the elephant's nose to it's head game. Don't forget to buy plenty of Jungle themes party favors for the winners of this game.
